Revelation 13: Is Europe the woman named "Babylon" in the Book of Revelation?

An issue for Europe is that it is geographically close to Russia, and Russia is a military superpower that is going through a return to a totalitarian type of government, and also Europe is having problems with Muslim terrorism. And Russia is showing signs of using natural gas supplies from Russia as a way to manipulate Europe and former Soviet countries such as Ukraine through price hikes and control of supply.
This web site includes a section suggesting that
Russia
and the Commonwealth of Independent States could be the red ten horned beast in the Book of Revelation in the Bible, and Europe could be the woman named "Babylon" who rides him in Revelation 17, since Europa in mythology was a woman riding a bull.
(Or the red beast could be the SCO consisting of Russia, China, and four Central Asia countries, if other countries such as Iran join the SCO).
Note that
geographically Western Europe being next to Russia, would agree with this idea of Europa riding the beast Russia, although Western Europe being above North Africa would fit the idea of Europe riding a Muslim serpent/beast/hydra stretching across North Africa from the Middle East. Perhaps there are two meanings to this.
Revelation, the last chapter of the Christian Bible, consists of prophecies of disastrous future events, that many people believe are occurring now with the new millennium beginning.
It is my suggestion that the Antichrist (a Satanic imitation of Christ), a great dictator, is Russian President Putin, and that Russia is the red 7-head 10-horned beast of the Bible's Book of
Revelation (the 10 horns being the Confederation of Independent States, led by Russia, although there are more than 10 in it now). This is an angry, dangerous beast in the Book of Revelation. I know that many of you reading this will say that
Osama bin Laden is more likely to be the Antichrist, but Osama bin Laden is too evil; the Antichrist will appear to be a good man, in fact the Antichrist will appear to be the saviour of the world.
Osama bin Laden is another character in
Revelation, a demon from Hell called "The Destroyer" in Revelation 9:11.
Russian President
Putin has brought stability and returned economic prosperity to Russia, and therefore President Putin has been praised around the world. But later by
2010 I think that Russia will become angry towards the West. I think Armageddon comes in 2010, possibly caused by
Muslim terrorists,
Iran, and
North Korea attacking Israel and the U.S. with nuclear weapons and bioweapons.
Another image in the Book of Revelation chapter 17 is the woman who rides the red 10-horned Beast, that I believe is Russia and/or Muslim nations. The woman and the Beast are friends, but eventually the Beast turns on her, and she is burnt with fire. I think this woman is Europe, since the symbol of Europe is the mythological Europa riding a bull.
So here you have a European Babylon riding on the back of the Russian red beast or a Islamic North Africa/Middle East green beast/serpent.
Also,
Russia and Europe have cooperated in economic and political matters in recent years, but I think the relationship could turn unfriendly eventually. Eventually this could mean that Russia will turn against Europe. Or this could be Muslim terrorism against Europe.
Also, the woman in Revelation 17 has a cup in her hand full of filthiness-- I think that could be
Mad Cow Disease (BSE), spread by improper cattle raising practices.
Eventually Russia or the Muslim terrorists and Iran will turn against Europe. In Revelation 17, the 10 horns of the beast are 10 kings who are in league with him, I think this is the C.I.S., and the seven heads of the Beast would be the heads of the seven districts that President Putin has divided Russia into.
Revelation 17 (King James Version):
17:3 "...and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns."
17:12 "And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast."
17:16 "And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the (woman), and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire." Or the ten horns that attack the woman could be Al Qaeda, Iran, and other Muslim nations such as Iran that support Muslim terrorism.
Note also that the woman is described in Revelation 17:6 as "drunk with the blood of saints", I believe this is referring to Europe's long history of wars, having seen more wars in the last two thousand years than anywhere else on earth, the worst wars being World War 1 and 2. The woman is described as a great city in Revelation 17:18, and in 17:15 it says that the woman consists of many peoples, nations, and languages. This also agrees with the woman being Europe. The "burn her with fire" may actually be a plague such as
SARS
Bird Flu or
Ebola spreading to Europe, note that SARS came out of the mouth of the
China dragon, part of the Russia/China red beast.
Also, another Book of Revelation image that could be Europe/Europa is the woman seen in heaven in Revelation 12, who is giving birth to a child, as the red dragon is seen in heaven. The red dragon could be the Muslim terrorist dragon, and also the Russian Antichrist Putin red dragon in alliance with the Red China red dragon. The moon is at the feet of the woman, the crescent moon being a Moslem symbol, this would be the Muslim countries geographically situated below Europe. Note that a second meaning of this woman is that she is the Christian Churches.
Revelation 12 (King James version):
"1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13 And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16 And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
So eventually the beast will turn against Europe and burn Europa with fire, as in Revelation 17. But this attack on Europe could be Muslim missle, nuclear, and biological attacks on Europe rather than Russia - this I'm not sure on. Perhaps here the 10 kings are Muslim countries that hate the West. The 10 horned beast may have two fullfillments - one as Russia and the C.I.S., the second as the Muslim terrorist hydra or serpent. See below the graphic of how the Muslim serpent crossed North Africa and invaded Europe around 700 A.D.. Europe also rides the Muslim beast where Europe is located above North Africa and the Middle East, as if Europa was riding the Muslim serpent. And Europe has been increasingly come under more Muslim influence because of the large numbers of Muslim immigrants that have gone to Europe, in particular France. In Bible prophecy there can be more than one fullfillment for prophecy - I think the woman is Europa, but she rides two dangerous beasts - the Russian 10 horned beast and the Muslim hydra. In one fullfillment, the beast that Europe rides is Russia and President Putin. In the other fullfillment the beast that Europe rides is the Muslim hydra, with Osama bin Laden as the Antichrist, and Ayman al-Zawahiri as the False Prophet.
Also, consider Genesis 3:13-15, which I think may be about the Muslim serpent abusing and enslaving women, and the curse of Islam:
"3:13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. "
I would relate this passage to the abuse and enslavement of women by the Muslim serpent. And Islam has been a curse upon the world. But Europa, the European woman, has struck back at the Muslim serpent, during the Crusades and during World War I. "upon thy belly thou shalt go" would be about Muslims in prayer 5 times a day. This may also mean that a woman, Hillary Clinton, is elected U.S. President in 2008, to step on the Muslim serpent, see
this page. And Germany elected a woman leader, Angela Merkel, in 2005. Also in Oct. 2005, it was announced that 6 foot high statues of the Greek Goddesses Athena and Hera were found on the island of Crete, that may be 2000 years old. Significant is the statue of Athena, the Greek Warrior Goddess and Goddess of Wisdom, who I think corresponds to Mrs. Merkel elected in Germany and Hillary to likely be elected U.S. President in 2008.
